WATERisLIFE
WATERisLIFE is a foundation that provides solutions to communities that lack clean water access. No clean water access can lead to different waterborne diseases such as cholera. “1 out of 5 children each day die of a water-related disease.” Not having clean water also leads to sanitary issues affecting the lifestyle and health of individuals. WATERisLIFE works in different countries around the world with the objective of ending the world water crisis. Among the solutions offered by the foundation, there are straw filters, bucket filter systems, pumps, excavation, protection, and even solar water treatment.
WATERisLIFE Kenya is a project by Camila Sancho. She is raising funds both at a national and international level in order to provide clean water solutions to communities in need in Kenya, Africa. The goal is to reach 10,000 dollars for solutions, besides taking solutions sponsored by companies or people who desire to donate. Based on the money raise, the plan includes installing clean water systems, giving out straw filters to different Maasai tribes and communities, as well as working with the school Gifted Hands Educational Center, located in a Kibera Slum with more than 300 students attending.
During this Model United Nations, this fundraiser will have a stand that will be offering different chocolates and goods throughout the weekend. Besides people can choose to either send roses or messages to their friends among the committees. In each of the school’s entrances, there will be “piggy banks” for donations. Don’t miss the chance of having fun during the weekend! Take part and contribute to help out more people in getting clean water access. WATER IS LIFE!
