Commission on the Status of Women

Topic Summary
This year, the ECOSOC committee has decided to focus on an ongoing topic that has been in the hot seat for many years now, Women’s Rights. According to the UN, human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, or any other status. But even today, many suffer from the violation of these rights and therefore, struggle to succeed. In many places around the world, women want to thrive in their professions yet they are underestimated and misjudged and businesses are closing their doors to them.
Actions towards this issue must be taken soon. Every solution will take a long time but it will for sure be worth it. In this committee, it is the delegate’s duty to accurately represent their country regarding women’s rights, and work together to find a possible outcome for this issue.
